Cafeteria A Ca la Capi sits just a little tucked away behind the main seafront strip in Almuñécar, giving it a quieter, local feel that sets it apart from the nearby tourist throng. This spot works as a versatile hangout thanks to its blend of café, bar, and casual eatery vibes.

Inside, the atmosphere leans toward an unpretentious, no-frills bar with familiar comforts like La Liga football on a big screen—ideal for sports fans who want to catch a game without fuss or the rigid schedules of bigger sports bars. The staff here are known for being friendly and attentive, keeping the pace lively but relaxed.

Out on the terrace or the shaded outdoor corner, it’s a nice place to pause with a coffee or a refreshing vermouth, shielded from the busier beachfront scene. Locals and visitors alike seem to appreciate this quieter niche, whether for a midday break or an evening unwind.

The menu offers straightforward, hearty fare at reasonable prices, featuring options like spicy chicken burgers, hot dogs, and large fresh salads. There’s something for those looking for casual lunch bites, including a variety of bocadillos and a Caesar salad with roasted chicken. The veggie burger stands out as a good plant-based choice in a town where meat dishes tend to dominate.

Breakfast visits are well-regarded too, with coffee and toast served in a relaxed setting that welcomes early risers and those wanting a calm start to the day away from the beach crowds. The combination of quality coffee and simple, satisfying dishes seems to draw a steady flow of regulars throughout the week.

Overall, Cafeteria A Ca la Capi is best for those who enjoy a genuine Andalusian cervecería atmosphere without the gloss and hustle of tourist hotspots—football fans, casual diners, and anyone after a straightforward, honest meal or drink in a socially inviting setting. Early afternoons and evenings during football matches appear to be prime times to experience the lively yet laidback rhythm of this local favorite.

I found this fab bar/restaurant with the help of Happy Cow app. The bar is located just behind the front row of seafront businesses, up a little lane. I didn't look at the menu before I ordered, I just asked "¿hay hamburguesa vegana?". When I saw the menu, I realised how inexpensive it is. There is inside and outside seating. Inside, a casual, bar atmosphere, there is football on a big screen and several dartboards. The bartender/waiter was polite and helpful.  The food came very quickly. I had the beyond burger, which came with salad in the bun and chips. It was delicious, quick, and cheap! I will return and try a salad or something else next time. The vegan burger with fries, glass of wine and bottle of water was less than 10€ I now eat regularly at this friendly, mainly locals bar. There is both inside and outside seating, mainly out of the sun.

Really great tapas bar with attentive staff and quick service. My friend and I went on a Friday early afternoon and there was plenty of seating. We had the veggie burger (delicious) and cheese and tomato baguette, both served with chips. Very reasonable prices. The place is located on a shady corner a little bit out of the way from the crowds, which is nice. A great place to come for just coffee, breakfast or tapas/lunch. We will definitely be back!

Another great local bar serving drinks, tapas and food. The burgers and hot dogs are lovely and great value for money, really nice big salads too. There was La Liga football on tv just about every night of the week - no Sky sports dictating when games are played here! It is a no frills bar but everything is clean and the service excellent. We spent a fair bit of time in here watching footie with the locals. Very good value for money.
